The same wine can smell and consequently taste completely
different depending on the kind of glass it is served
in. The DIFFERENCE comes from the wineglasses, which reinforce
the properties of the wine. Each type of flavour has its
own glass, shaped to produce optimal smell and flavour.
Choose Crisp or Fruit for white wine and Primeur or Mature
for red wine. Sparkling raises the effervescent wine to
a fountain of smells and Sweet enhances its sweetness
Discover a new concept in wineglasses and encounter a
new world of fragrances and flavours.

Sweet
Sweet wine offers a number of aromas from lateharvested
grapes. Sauternes is the classic sweet wine produced from
"nobel rot" grapes, where the must is often
allowed to ferment in a small oak vat providing the wine
with added character. In the smell pallet you will find
associations to honey, toffee, saffron and creme brulee
in varying degrees depending on what stage of its development
the wine finds itself. The long coupe in Difference Sweet
immediately captures the entire bouquet and allows it
to present itself in a way that exceeds all expectations.

Sparkling
The wide champagne coupe is beautiful to look at but
does little to promote the quality of the wine. The fragrance
spills over the edge of the low glass out into the empty
void. The champagne flute is far superior if you want
to enjoy the three characteristics of the champagne -
its hardworking fruit acid, its bready fermentation tone
and the cool chalkiness from the wine yard, making this
wine the most appetizing of all.
Difference Sparkling goes a step further via an extremely
generous coupe in which the entire register of fragrances
is given full scope.

Fruit
In Difference Fruit you will enjoy the full generously
rounded white wine, .i.e. all the white wines that are
based on a broader taste pallet than acidity and crispiness.
Mature Chardonnay represents the model for this type of
this type of flavor. Among the aromas, you will find sweeter
fruits and often a mild butteriness that emphasizes the
the roundness of the wine. Difference Fruit accentuates
these properties and allows the aromas to blossom freely.
Flavor categories; Classic white Bourgognes and mature
Chablis as well as all Chardonnays from the New World,
Pinot Gris, Viognier, Verdicchio, mature Riesling and
similar wines.
Orrefors Difference
Crisp
Young white wines rests firmly on its acidity and razor-sharp
freshness. Sauvignon Blanc is the typical example, but
crispy white wines can bo found in many places. The fresh
apple profile is often the common factor for these wines
and this is strengthened via an early harvest and a fermentation
process at low temperature in order to retain the aroma
and maximum freshness. The wine has a great fragrance
but there are a few nuances - a quality Difference Crisp
wishes to emphasize and maintain.
Flavor categories: Sancerre, Pouilly Fumé and
other wines of Sauvignon Blanc, young Riesling, young
Chablis, Frascati, Albariño and similar wines.
Orrefors Difference
Primeur
Young red wine is a characterized by the fruit acid and
tannic acid of the grape. The colour is bluer than red
brick, its fragrance luxuriant and juicy. Such an early
wine requires a glass that allows these aromas to be expressed
openly and Difference Primeur reinforces this. A lot depends
on the tall edge of the glass, where the distance between
the surface of the wine and your nose is crucial to bow
the fragrance is experienced. The alcohol sustains the
aromas and off the vinous profile of the young wine.
Flavor categories; Beaujolais, all young wines of Cabernet
Sauvignon and Merlot, young Syrah/Shiraz, Zinfandel, Pinotage
and similar wines.

Clear Spirits
Just as with the wine glasses, the objective of this
glass is to enhance the overall character and enjoyment
of the drinks.
Difference ClearSpirit is intended for distillates of
fruit and berries, i.e. all clear spirits with the exception
of vodka and aquavit. Clear Spirit is ideal for grappa
and, say, framboise or Poire William.

Mature Spirits
Just as with the wine glasses, the objective of this
glass is to enhance the overall character and enjoyment
of the drinks. Difference Mature Spirit was designed for
barrel-aged spirits such as cognac, calvados, single malt
whisky and dark rum. Mature Spirit has a fairly traditional
cognac bowl designed to bring out the aroma and flavours
of the barrel, and like the wine glasses, stands on a
tall stem.
Difference Mature Spirit was designed for barrel-aged
spirits such as cognac, calvados, single malt whisky and
dark rum.

Mature
When the red wine subsequently matures, its character
is broadened with a number of secondary aromas. The characters
of the grape is toned down and soil and vinifaction come
to the fore instead. The juicy fruit fades into a broad
register with hints of leather and flowers, earth and
truffles.
Difference Mature accentuates the bouquet of the mature
wine, making it more accessible and richer in refinement
thanks to the fact that the large area of the glass allows
the wine to breathe deeply.
Flavor categories; All wines with maturity, primarily
those from Bourgunge, Bordeaux and Rioja as well as classic
vinified, long-lived red wine in full bloom.

Decanter
In earlier time all wines were decanted to separate sediments
in the bottle. Today, we prefer to decant wine to liberate
its inner must soul. Primarily this applies to every young
wines that acquire a much more mature and expressive aroma
and very old wines where a distinctive cellar smell quickly
disappears inside the decanter. Not only expensive red
wines benefits from being decanted. White wines often
benefit more from this aeration and all red wines that
have not achieved full maturity grow in the decanter.
